# Astrix: a free open-source Ghost theme for modern publications

I released [Astrix](https://adrianoamalfi.github.io/astrix-ghost/?ref=adrianoamalfi.com), a free open-source theme for Ghost CMS.

**Astrix started from a simple idea**: one Ghost theme should be able to support **different kinds of publications** without forcing every site into the same visual pattern.

The same codebase can become a **travel journal,** a **design magazine**, a f**ood publication**, or a **personal blog**. You can change the **homepage hero**, **feed layout,** **accent color**, and several **reading** and **membership** options directly from **Ghost Admin.**

Astrix includes:

- four **live demo** publications
- four **homepage hero** styles
- three **feed layouts**
- native **light, dark, and system** color modes
- **membership** and **gated-content** templates
- Ghost **Portal** integration
- styled **Koenig** editor cards
- **English** and **Italian** locales
- reading **progress bar**, **table of contents**, and **related** posts

I would **appreciate feedback** from people running Ghost publications, especially around **install** flow, theme **settings**, membership **templates**, and whether the demos make the **flexibility** clear.
